Before Bryant: A 2010 graduate of Wheeler High School in North Stonington, Conn., Gavitt comes to Bryant as a community college transfer from CCRI … In high school, Gavitt was a four-year varsity letterwinner in baseball and three-year varsity letterwinner in basketball … Earned First Team All-Area in baseball during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons … Named first team all-state his senior year after hitting .576 with four home runs and 27 RBI in just 13 games … In his first season at CCRI, Gavitt hit .414 with six home runs and earned First Team All-New England honors … This past spring, Gavitt hit .364 with 17 doubles and 40 RBI ... Helped lead CCRI to the NJCAA Division II Baseball National Championship tournament ...
