Bryant baseball NCAA stat champ for winning percentage

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team has been recognized as the 2015-16 Division I baseball statistical champion for winning percentage by the NCAA following arguably the best season in program history.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 47-12 record and a 79.7 winning percentage, beating out Louisville who finished with a 78.1 winning percentage. Bryant finished eighth nationally in victories, setting a school and Northeast Conference record in the process. It is the third time in four years that the Bulldogs have won 40+ games.

Bryant's 2016 season will go down as one of the best in NEC history. The Black and Gold started the year 7-1 and didn't lose back-to-back games until the final two games of the season. Bryant picked up wins over perennial powers San Diego State, Kentucky and Maryland, and won all but one weekend over the course of the year. The Bulldogs went a remarkable 26-4 in NEC play and were an NCAA-best 32-9 away from Conaty Park.
