PITCHING PROBABLES

Wednesday – Vito Morgese (0-4, 8.10 ERA) vs. TBA

The Bulldogs have tabbed a pair of left handers to start the midweek home-and-home with Brown. Morgese is coming off his longest outing of the year at Hartford, tossing 4 1/3 innings. He has improved in each of his last three outings, striking out a season-high four against the Hawks.

SERIES HISTORY

Bryant and Brown will be meeting for the second time this season on Tuesday. The Bears swept a three-game series from the Bulldogs two weekends ago (Mar. 18-19) in Providence. All three games were decided by two runs or less, with the Bears winning the middle game on a walk-off single in the 11th inning. Bryant still leads the all-time series 7-6.

FIRST MEETING RECAP

The Bears used outstanding starting pitching and timely hitting to sweep the Bulldogs in Providence. Christian Taugner struck out nine over seven innings in the first game and both Max Ritchie and Reid Anderson were able to work at least five innings. Bryant stranded the tying run on third in the first game and Josh Huntley's two-out walk-off single ended game two in the 11th. The Bears used a four-run fifth to build a 5-0 lead and hold on for a 5-3 victory in the series finale. Bryant hit just .202 on the weekend.

NOTES AND NOTABLES FOR BROWN

Bryant has lost each of its last 10 games. It is the first time in DI program history the Bulldogs have lost as many as 10 games in a row in a season.

Of the 10 losses, eight have been decided by four runs or less. There has also been four one-run games.

Bryant has made 43 errors in the first 20 games of the season and currently ranks as one of the worst teams in the country with a .940 fielding percentage. The 43 errors have led to 33 unearned runs.

Senior Cole Fabio (Mahwah, N.J.) broke the DI program record for career walks on Mar. 26 at Saint Joseph's. He now has 98 in his career, 15 shy of tying the all-time program record set by Pat McKenna.

Sophomore Nick Angelini (Bedford, N.H.) has hit safely in each of his last six games, going 9-for-25 (.360) with a .407 OBP. He has tripled three times and doubled once during the stretch.

Classmate Nathan Wrighter (Windsor, N.Y.) continues to be a force out of the bullpen, posting a pair of scoreless outings at Saint Joseph's. Wrighter tossed three scoreless innings over the weekend and has now allowed just one earned run over his last 11 2/3 innings. He leads the team with a 1.93 ERA in a team-high 10 appearances.

Craig Lacey (Westfield, Mass.), another sophomore, also excelled over the weekend. He pitched four innings, one of one-hit relief in the series opener against the Hawks. Lacey now has a 4.50 ERA in 12 innings.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Brown had its six-game winning streak snapped on Sunday with a 3-2 loss to Georgetown. The Bears are playing their best baseball of the season and come in hitting .255 and have posted a 3.47 team ERA. Sam Grigo (.315) is the Bears' leading hitter, while Rob Henry and Brian Ginsberg combined for eight hits, seven RBI and six runs scored in Brown's three-game sweep of the Bulldogs.
