Gasper earns ABCA All-Region honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball junior catcher Mickey Gasper (Merrimack, N.H.) has been named an ABCA/Rawlings Northeast All-Region First Team selection for his performance this spring.

Gasper becomes the 14th Bulldog in the last six years to earn ABCA All-Northeast honors, and is the sixth first-teamer in DI program history. All first team selections are eligible for ABCA All-America honors.

The Northeast Conference and ECAC Player of the Year, Gasper started all but one game for a Bulldog team that won their sixth-straight NEC Regular-Season title this spring. He led Bryant with a .342 average, producing 11 doubles, seven home runs, 53 RBI and 45 runs scored. Gasper also displayed an incredible amount of plate discipline, drawing 42 walks and striking out just 18 times. He is the first player in DI program history to drive in 50+ runs and walk 40+ times in the same season.
