Theetge named NEC Co-Pitcher of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball junior Steve Theetge (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been named the Northeast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week following his performance this past weekend.

Theetge picks up his second-straight NEC Pitcher of the Week honor and his third of the year.

Theetge toed the rubber for the series opener at Mount St. Mary's, earning a victory in his final regular season start. The southpaw fired 6.0 scoreless frames in a 10-0 win that helped the Bulldogs secure a share of the NEC regular season crown. Totaling 104 pitches, Theetge surrendered only two hits (both singles) and issue two walks while striking out six batters. Three of the four runners who reached scoring position against Theetge did so by virtue of errors.

In addition, sophomore Bryan Hart (Franklin, Mass.) was named an NEC Prime Performer. Hart homered twice, drove in three runs and scored four times against Mount St. Mary's. He hit a home run in each of the final two games of the series.
