McGill, Morgese earn NEC weekly honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball graduate students Liam McGill and Vito Morgese were named Northeast Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.

McGill hit .500 (7-for-14) on the week with a .682 OBP in four games. He reached safely in all four games and has reached safely in all 26 this year. McGill produced a home run, five walks, four RBI and six runs scored. He helped the Bulldogs win their series with LIU, hitting a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Morgese picks up pitcher of the week honors after tossing a complete-game shutout in Sunday's series finale with LIU. He scattered seven singles, walked three and struck out six in the first complete game of his career.

In addition, Tyler Mattison was named an NEC Prime Performer. Mattison surrendered just one hit over 7.0 innings to earn his sixth win of the year last Friday against LIU.
