Bryant opens NEC play at home this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team opens Northeast Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against LIU at Conaty Park. Opening Day is set for Friday at 3:00 p.m.

All three games will be streamed on NECFrontRow.com.

Bryant vs. LIU

• Bryant owns a 38-16 lead in the all-time series between the two programs. The Bulldogs won 2-of-3 in the regular season and then defeated the Sharks in the first game of the NEC Tournament last year.  
• It marked the third time the teams have met in the NEC Tournament. They played twice in 2013, once in 2018 and again in 2021.

• Bryant enters NEC play with a 6-11 overall record. The Bulldogs have won each of the last nine NEC Regular-Season titles.  
• Bryant was picked to finish first in the NEC, while LIU was slated to finish fourth. 
• Matt Woods leads the team with a .317 average to go along with six doubles, two triples and a home run. 
• Derek Smith (14) and Logan Allen (12) are first and second on the team in runs scored, with Smith also adding nine RBI. 
• Friday starter Collin Lowe is 1-3 with a 2.60 ERA in five starts. He's struck out 29 and walked six in 27.2 innings. 
• Jared Burrows has struck out 16 and walked seven in 18.0 innings, while Logan Frasier is coming off his best start of the year at URI last Sunday.
