Lane named NEC Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Bryant University baseball sophomore Alex Lane was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Lane hit .381 with four doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI in a 4-1 week for the Black and Gold.

The NEC leader in home runs and RBI started his week with two hits and five RBI in a loss to UMass Lowell. After a tough day vs Northeastern, he rebounded to go 6-for-12 with nine RBI in a three-game sweep of Sacred Heart. Lane homered and drove in four runs in the first game, had two hits and two RBI in game two and closed the series with three hits and three RBI. 

On the year, Lane is hitting .341 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI. 

In addition, Jake Gustin, Matt Woods and Collin Lowe were named #NECPrimePerformers. Gustin hit .478 with six RBI and 11 runs scored, Woods hit .550 with a 1.600 OPS and Lowe struck out 10 over 6.0 innings of one-hit ball.
