Bryant blanked by Maryland on Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Daniel Baruch collected a pair of hits but the Bryant University baseball team was unable to get anything going on Saturday, falling to Maryland, 7-0.

Bryant falls to 1-6 following the loss. The Bulldogs and Terrapins close out the series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Baruch collected two of Bryant's four hits in the game (all singles). The Bulldogs had just seven baserunners all game.

Four Bryant relievers were able to hold the Terrapins just three runs over the final 5.2 innings.

How it Happened

  • A fielding error opened the door for Maryland in the second and D. Russell scored the first run of the game with an RBI single.
  • In the third, the Terrapins loaded the bases with one out and a two-run single under the dive of the second baseman scored two. A third run scored on a single through the left side.
  • Bryant's relief quartet of Mark Scamardella, M.T. Morrissey, Ryan Bradley and Jared Burrows was able to limit Maryland to three runs on four hits over the final 5.2 innings.
