Bryant, Maine open America East play at Conaty Park

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant baseball team opens America East play this weekend as it welcomes the defending league champion Maine to Conaty Park for a three-game series.

Bryant and Maine will open the series with a doubleheader on Friday, March 21 starting at 12:30 p.m. Game three of the series will be played either Saturday or Sunday depending on weather.

Game 1 - Austin Wainer vs. Gianni Gambardella

  • Bryant's weekend rotation will remain the same for the sixth-straight weekend. 
  • Wainer is still in search of his first win of 2024, having posted a 5.95 ERA in 19.2 innings. He has struck out 22 and walked just eight.
  • Luke Delongchamp delivered another solid outing last weekend, allowing just one run on three hits over a career-high 7.0 innings. He has walked just three and struck out 15.
  • Tyler Horvat also put together a strong effort last Sunday, allowing just two runs over 8.0 innings. 
  • Gambardella is 0-5 with a 8.78 ERA, striking out 25 in 27.2 innings.
  • Krieger has the best numbers in the rotation, posting a 4.50 ERA in 22.0 innings. 
  • Gabe Gifford has walked 13 and struck out 14 in 11.1 innings.  

Bryant vs. Maine

  • Maine holds a 4-3 lead in the all-time series after sweeping a three-game series in Orono last season.
