Spring football notebook No. 2
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – It was another great morning on Saturday as the Bryant University football team wrapped up its second spring practice.
Energy Evident…
Practicing for the second day in a row, the Bulldogs brought a great deal of energy on Saturday morning. Both sides of the ball were flying around the field.
Constant makes a grab…
Rising redshirt junior Jean Constant (Delray Beach, Fla.) made an outstanding touchdown reception on a pass from rising redshirt senior Price Wilson (Marietta, Ga.) during 1-on-1 drills. Constant was an all-conference performer as a kick returner and a wide receiver last fall.
Mr. Wilson…
In addition to his TD pass to Constant, Wilson looked strong for the second day in a row. It's a good sign for the Black and Gold as Wilson is coming off an All-NEC Second Team selection last fall.
De-fense…
On paper, it appears Bryant's defense will be one of the biggest strengths this year. On Saturday, that defense forced a couple of turnovers and worked well as a unit.
Sled races…
Saturday's end-of-practice competition was sled races. The offense took home the victory to even the spring series at 1-1.
President Machtley makes an appearance…
President Machtley made an appearance on Saturday morning and delivered an outstanding post-practice speech.
Next up…
The next spring practice will be Tuesday morning and is OPEN to the public.
