McNeal named NEC Rookie of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football redshirt freshman Shelton McNeal (Lakeland, Fla.) was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

McNeal caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown and finished the game with 106 all-purpose yards.

A week after posting a team-high six catches at Stony Brook, McNeal helped set up two scores before scoring his first-career touchdown to put the game away in the fourth quarter. McNeal made the catch in the middle of the field, made one defender miss and then was able to get across the goal line despite having his facemask grabbed by the defender.

In addition, redshirt senior Price Wilson (Marietta, Ga.) and redshirt junior Jean Constant (Delray Beach, Fla.) were both named NEC Prime Performers. Wilson completed 32-of-50 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns, while Constant had six catches for 95 yards and two scores.
