Constant named STATS FCS First Team All-American

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football redshirt junior Jean Constant (Delray Beach, Fla.) was named a First Team All-American return specialist by STATS FCS on Tuesday afternoon.

Constant became the first two-time All-American in DI program history last week when he became the first Walter Camp All-American in program history and his selection as a STATS FCS First Team All-American cements him as the best return man in FCS college football. He was a third team selection last fall and is the only Bulldog to earn All-American honors from STATS FCS.

It was an incredible fall for Constant despite the fact that teams kicked away from him for much of the season. Constant recorded only 16 kick returns on the year but finished with 626 return yards and led the nation with a 39.1 average and three kick return scores. He returned the opening kickoff of the season 100 yards against New Haven and then posted return scores in each of the final two games, including an 88-yard score that broke a 49-49 with under four minutes to go at Howard.

Constant is Bryant's all-time leader in kick return yards (1,694) and return touchdowns (5) and became just the seventh player in school history to surpass 3,000 career all-purpose yards. In addition to his return duties, Constant also caught 43 passes for 477 yards and seven touchdowns and carried the ball seven times and scored a touchdown.
