SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football faces its second-straight CAA opponent on Saturday when it travels to Albany, New York, to take on the Great Danes. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Series History

  • Bryant and Albany will be meeting for the fifth time in program history on Saturday night.
  • The two teams met four times between 2009-12 when both were members of the Northeast Conference.
  • Bryant won back-to-back games in 2010 and 2011, defeating the Great Danes on the road in 2011.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Bryant opened the 2019 season last Thursday at Stony Brook. The Bulldogs fell to the Seawolves, 35-10.
  • The Bulldogs trailed 14-3 at halftime but the Seawolves scored on three of their first four second-half possessions to pull away.
  • Sophomore Daniel Adeboboye (Toronto, Ont.) posted 53 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 21 carries.
  • Senior Vincent Nisivoccia (Nutley, N.J.) posted a career-high 117 kick return yards and finished with 171 all-purpose yards.
  • Defensively, classmate Robert Brown (Palmetto Bay, Fla.) led all players with nine tackles.
  • Redshirt junior Fernando Casanova (Jacksonville, Fla.) added a career-high eight tackles.
  • Bryant forced two turnovers in the game. Brown forced a fumble at the goal line, while junior Andre Brackett (East Windsor, Conn.) intercepted his third-career pass.

A bit about the Great Danes

  • Albany opened the 2019 season at FBS member Central Michigan last week, falling 38-21.
  • The Great Danes put up 244 yards of total offense and gave up 529 yards of offense.
  • Eli Mencer had two TFLs, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in the game. He returned one of the fumbles 52 yards for a touchdown.
  • Jeff Undercuffler started at QB and completed 15-of-28 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Both TDs were caught by Juwan Green.
  • The Great Danes were picked to finish last in the CAA preseason coaches poll.
