Frederick named FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University football senior Anthony Frederick was named the FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. 

Frederick earns his first national honor after returning a kick 100 yards for a touchdown and finishing with 232 all-purpose yards. He posted 197 return yards and caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. 

After Brown took a 3-0 lead, Frederick caught the kickoff at the goal line and raced down the middle of the field for his first-career return touchdown. Frederick would add a 24-yard touchdown reception later in the game. 

Through three games, Frederick leads the nation with 34.0 yards per return and ranks fifth nationally with 186.0 all-purpose yards per game.
