Bio

Kulzer served in his first season as the defensive line coach for Bryant in the 2023 season.

Kulzer helped Kenny Dyson Jrearn Big South-OVC first-team honors, and Michael Otty made the second team. The Bulldogs averaged 2.35 sacks per game, which ranked fifth in the conference and 30th in the country. The Defensive Line accounted for 21 of the 26 sacks this season.

Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Kulzer served as the head coach at American International College in 2022. He was named the interim head coach the year prior.

At AIC, he had six players earn NE10 All-Conference honors, with three First Team players on defense. That included the 2022 NE-10 Rookie of the Year in Dahvey Hicks. Kulzer had previously served as Assistant Head Coach since 2015 and had been part of the team as a student-athlete, graduate assistant, and assistant coach prior to that. As an assistant coach, Kulzer coached 14 NE-10 selections at linebacker, including the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year, Jaqwaune Simpkins, and an all-league safety. Kulzer also recruited Defensive Linemen of the Year Danny Omoregie and Isiah Tolbert.

Kulzer graduated from American International in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management and played two seasons for AIC. He returned from 2008-2010 as a Graduate Assistant Coach in charge of the linebackers and punt return team. He completed his Master's in Human Resource Development in 2010. While working as a graduate assistant, the team had the nation's seventh-best total defense in 2008, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time and winning the Northeast-10 Championship.

Kulzer briefly left AIC for Hudson Valley Community College in the 2010 season, where he became Defensive Coordinator, Director of Operations, and the team's recruiting coordinator before returning to the College in 2011 as an Assistant Coach. In 2013, the team had the nation's top red zone defense and made its second NCAA Tournament appearance, as well as taking its second Northeast-10 crown. AIC would also go on to win the 2014 NE-10 Regular-Season title.
