SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University field hockey team looks to move their home record to a perfect 3-0 Sunday afternoon, as they host Northeast Conference powerhouse Lock Haven University to the Bryant Turf Complex. Game time is 1:00 p.m.

After a weeklong break from action, the Bulldogs (4-7, 1-1, NEC) return to Smithfield and conference play and Sunday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and the Lady Eagles. Lock Haven is an associate member of the NEC, participating only in field hockey.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryant dropped a tough 2-1 loss to Saint Francis (PA)???on the road Sunday, Oct. 4. After 35 minutes of scoreless play, the Red Flash took a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the second half. But Bulldog senior Caitlan Johnson would even the score at 1-1 in the 51st minute with her first goal of the season, unassisted. But when the senior captain was sent off with a yellow card late in the closing frame, it was just a matter of time before Saint Francis (PA) capitalized on the man advantage opportunity, as Kellie Mason scored her second goal of the game to vault the Red Flash past the Bulldogs for the second year in a row.

MAWEMA STRONG AS EVER
Senior goalie Kundayi Mawema continues her strong senior campaign for the Bulldogs, posting shutouts in Bryant's last three victories, most recently a 4-0 topping of NEC opponent Robert Morris on the road. Her 2.14 goals against average ranks the Zimbabwe native No. 40 in the nation, while her 6.27 saves per contest are good for 23rd among all Division I netminders. Mawema has posted a .750 save percentage thus far on the season (T-24th nationally), having faced 163 shots on the year, and has played all but 17 minutes between the pipes for the Black and Gold.
