Jaarsma earns MAAC Rookie of the Week honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Marijn Jaarsma (Uithoorn, Netherlands) was named Rookie of the Week by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as announced on Monday afternoon.

Jaarsma made her collegiate debut on Friday against UMass Lowell. The rookie came in to play the second half and made four saves while only allowing one goal in the 3-0 loss to the River Hawks.

The Bulldogs went back to UMass Lowell to play in the consolation game against VCU on Sunday where Jaarsma made her first career start. Jaarsma played all 70 minutes in the cage and tallied a total of nine saves.

Bryant is back in action on Friday where they will take on Brown at noon.
