Wypych scores first career goal in Sunday's season finale

DEDHAM, Mass. – Victoria Wypych scored her first-career goal as the Bryant University field hockey team fell to Northeastern, 4-1, in its season finale on Sunday.

KEY MOMENT

  • Northeastern scored three goals in a 12-minute span in the third quarter to break a 1-1 tie.        

HOW IT HAPPENED

Wypych made her final game as a Bulldog special, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 18th minute. 

Northeastern rallied back, tying the game with less than two minutes to go in the first half. The Huskies then scored just over a minute into the third quarter on a penalty corner. Lexie Dunleavy then scored twice within a minute to make it 4-1.

  • Wypych scored her first collegiate goal for the Black and Gold. 
  • Marijn Jaarsma made 16 saves in the final game of her collegiate career. Jaarsma finishes her career with 495 saves. 
  • Jaarsma finishes the year with 201 saves, becoming the first goalie to make 200+ saves in a single season in program history. 
  • Jaarsma will finish the year with 11.2 saves per game, the most in the country.
