Green, Guitink, Gallagher named FH captains

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University field hockey head coach Jillian Coppola has named Grayson Green, Lotte Guitink and Caitlin Gallagher as captains for the upcoming 2022 season. 

The Bulldogs open the 2022 campaign on Friday afternoon when they host La Salle at the Bryant Track & Turf Complex. First touch is set for 4:00 p.m.

Green, a senior, enters this fall as one of the most experienced Bulldogs on the roster. She has appeared in 42 career games, registering a goal and an assist for three points. Green turned in her best season last fall, starting in 16 of the 18 games and posting a goal and an assist. 

Guitink has been a stalwart on Bryant's backline since her freshman season, starting all 26 games in her two seasons in Smithfield. She registered a goal and three assists last fall, posting three points over the final four games of the fall. 

Gallagher takes on a leadership role in just her second season in Smithfield. As a true freshman in 2021, Gallagher started all 18 games and recorded one assist for the Black and Gold.
