Men's hoops garners NEC Team Sportsmanship Award

BRYANT MEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS NORTHEAST CONFERENCE TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off an illustrious record-setting season, the Bryant University men's basketball team was recognized for its impeccable character on and off the court with the 2012-13 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Team Sportsmanship Award, announced the NEC Monday.

In their first year of full Division I eligibility the Bulldogs put together a record-setting season finishing with a Division I program-best 19 wins and their first-ever trip to the NEC Tournament. The Bulldogs 12-6 mark against NEC Opponents was good enough for the #4 seed and the first home basketball playoff game in Bryant's Division I history. The Black and Gold also made their first appearance in the College Basketball Invitational, hosting the Richmond Spiders on March 20.

This marks the first NEC Team Sportsmanship Award for the men's basketball program as the Bulldogs look to build on their success from the past season, continuing to do so with the high level of integrity that they have become known for around the league.
