Zouzoua named NEC Co-Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's basketball sophomore guard Nisre Zouzoua (Brockton, Mass.) has been named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Coming off an NEC All-Rookie freshman campaign, Zouzoua has been nearly unstoppable for the Bulldogs this season. Last week he accounted for nearly 37.0 percent of Bryant's points over three contests, averaging 25.3 points per game on a 49.1 percent shooting from the field. After posting a team-best 22 points in a narrow four-point setback at Eastern Washington on Monday, Zouzoua recorded a career-high 30 points - 19 coming in the second half - in Bryant's 64-57 win over Louisiana-Monroe the following day. He hit 13-of-22 shots and corralled a career-high six boards. The Brockton, Mass., product finished off the week with five triples and 24 points at Northwestern. After trailing by as many as 21 in the first half and 13 at halftime, Zouzoua scored 14 points in less than five minutes, including eight straight at one point to cut the deficit to 42-39 with 15:29 to play. He leads the NEC with 21.7 points per game and 3.0 three-pointers per outing.

The Bulldogs are back in action tonight, Nov. 28, at Brown at 7:00 p.m.
