Bryant treks to Mount St. Mary's Thursday
EMMITSBURG, Md. - The Bryant University men's basketball team takes to the road for the first time in NEC play when the Bulldogs face Mount St. Mary's Thursday.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Mount St. Mary's is 3-12 overall and 0-2 in the NEC after dropping games at Saint Francis U and Robert Morris to open conference play. Vado Morse was named NEC Rookie of the Week, averaging 16.5 points per game.
Jalen Gibbs leads the Mountaineers with 14.5 points per game, while Morse has added 12.2. Freshman Malik Jefferson ranks fourth in the NEC with 7.7 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES
Mount St. Mary's holds a 13-7 lead in the all-time series, which included a pair of Division II matchups in the 1980s before Bryant's move to D1 in 2008-09. The Mountaineers are 8-1 in Emmitsburg in the Division I era.
The home team won both matchups a year ago with Bryant taking a 79-77 win at the Chace in February. Brandon Carroll (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 23 points in the victory over the Mountaineers.
LAST TIME OUT: LIU BROOKLYN 79, BRYANT 70
Five Bulldogs were in double figures, led by 16 points from junior SaBastian Townes (Chesapeake, Va.), but LIU pulled away in the final four minutes Saturday in Smithfield.
THAT'S GONNA BE A NO FROM THIS DAWG
Junior Juan Cardenas (Medellin, Colombia) leads Bryant with 21 blocks on the year, good for second in the NEC. In just 12 games, Cardenas has risen to the top 10 in Bryant's Division I era in career blocks.
BASH GETS BUCKETS
Junior SaBastian Townes is averaging 25.3 points per game in his last four contests against mid-major competition. Townes scored a career-high 34 points against Hartford, 23 in the win over Dartmouth, 28 in the victory over St. Francis Brooklyn and 16 vs. LIU Brooklyn.
ORDERING A LIFT
Freshman Joe Kasperzyk (New Haven, Conn.) has provided a spark in the five games in which he has come off the bench, averaging 14.6 points per game. Kasperzyk's 19 points against Dartmouth and 18 vs. Navy are the two highest scoring outputs so far in his career.
ADAM ADDING TO CAREER NUMBERS
Junior Adam Grant (Franklin, Va.) climbed to fourth on Bryant's Division I career scoring list Saturday against LIU Brooklyn. Grant has scored 1,054 points in his time in Black & Gold and surpassed Corey Maynard, who scored 1,050 in his career, against the Blackbirds.
Next up on the list is Frankie Dobbs, who scored 1,172 points in his three years at Bryant from 2010-13.
NOT BASHFUL FROM BEYOND THE ARC
Junior SaBastian Townes is 10-for-23 from three this year including a game-winner against Dartmouth. Townes made a combined four three-pointers in his first two seasons.
