Kasperzyk collects third NEC Co-Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball freshman Joe Kasperzyk (New Haven, Conn.) has been selected as Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 12.

Kasperzyk collects his third weekly conference honor in a span of four weeks after a pair of career-best offensive performances on the road. The freshman guard tallied a career-high 21 points Thursday in Bryant's 66-59 win at Mount St. Mary's and matched that total Saturday at Sacred Heart. Kasperzyk shot 54.2 percent from the field for the week and is averaging 16.3 points per game in NEC play.

The three NEC Rookie of the Week honors earned by Kasperzyk are the second-most of any player in Bryant's Division I era. Marcel Pettway totaled five awards in the 2015-16 season.

Bryant returns home for its next four games, beginning with a contest Saturday at 4 p.m. against Robert Morris. Tickets are available by clicking HERE.

Season and single-game tickets for home games at the Chace Athletic Center are available by clicking HERE or calling (401) 319-TIXX.
