Lin earns third NEC Rookie of the Week honor

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball freshman Benson Lin (New Taipei City, Taiwan) has been named Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 20, as announced Wednesday by the NEC office.

Lin averaged 14.5 points per game in the Bulldogs' NEC clashes against Merrimack and Long Island last week, led by a 19-point effort January 15 at Merrimack that matched a career-high. The freshman from Taiwan shot 41.7% from the field over the two games while adding five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The honor is Lin's third NEC Rookie of the Week in his freshman year after previously taking home the award December 9 and 16. The Bulldogs have earned five NEC Rookie of the Week honors this season with three from Lin and two from freshman Charles Pride (Syracuse, N.Y.) – Bryant's most since a program-record six in 2015-16.

Bryant hosts Wagner Thursday in its final home game of January. Get your TICKETS for the 7 p.m. tip on the first day of the spring semester.
