Kiss named NEC Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball redshirt-senior Peter Kiss has been named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week presented by Pilot Pen, the league office announced on Monday.

Kiss averaged 21.0 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game and 3.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Black and Gold. He shot scorching 65 percent (15-23) from the field and made 9-of-12 free throws.

Kiss opened the week with a 22-point, nine-rebound performance against America East foe New Hampshire. He finished 9-of-14 from the field and scored 14 of his points in the second half to help the Bulldogs earn a 93-85 victory. Kiss posted his second-straight 20-point game on Saturday against RIC, finishing with 20 points, four rebounds, four assists and a career-high six steals.

On the season, Kiss is averaging 18.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.3 apg.

Michael Green III and Charles Pride were both recognized as #NECPrimePerformers. Green III averaged 18.5 ppg, 4.5 apg and 3.0 spg last week. He tied his career high with 23 points in the win at UNH and finished with seven assists against RIC. Pride averaged 16.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg for the Bulldogs. He scored nine points and had four rebounds in the final eight minutes of Tuesday's game at UNH to help the Black and Gold prevail.

Bryant opens NEC play on Tuesday night against St. Francis Brooklyn. The Bulldogs and Terriers will also play on Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn Heights.
