Bryant falls to URI on Friday
KINGSTON, R.I. – Junior Charles Pride scored 25 points as the Bryant University men's basketball team gave Rhode Island everything it could handle before falling 83-62 on Friday night during the regional round of The Sunshine Slam at the Thomas M. Ryan Center.
Pride made 7-of-20 from the field and 5-of-11 from beyond the arc to finish with 25+ points for the second-straight game to start the season. Adahm Eleeda and Chris Childs were Bryant's other double-digit scorers, finishing with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

- URI used an 16-2 run in the second half to turn a 52-51 lead into a 70-53 lead with 6:43 remaining in the game.
How it Happened
- Hall Elisias opened the scoring with a three from the top of the key, marking just his second made three in a Bulldog uniform.
- It was a sign of a strong start as the Bulldogs made five of their first nine attempts from beyond the arc. Three's from Pride and Eleeda gave Bryant a 17-12 lead at the under-12 media timeout.
- Chris Childs gave Bryant a 25-22 lead with 6:49 remaining, converting off a URI turnover.
- The Rams would grab a 33-32 lead with 3:05 remaining and would lead 37-34 with eight seconds left. Bryant got the ball off a turnover and Eleeda was able to drill a three from the left wing as the horn sounded to tie the score.
- Pride opened the second half scorching hot, scoring Bryant's first nine points, giving Bryant a 49-46 lead with a step-back three with 15:10 remaining.
- The Rams would follow with a 9-2 run to take a 59-51 lead with 11:46 remaining.
- Bryant was able to keep it a two possession game until the Rams broke off an 11-2 run to make it 70-53 with 6:43 remaining.

- Bryant finished the game 18-of-69 (26 percent) from the field, 12-of-39 (31 percent) from three and 16-of-18 (89 percent) from the line.
- The Bulldogs were held to 7-of-31 in the second half.
