Bulldogs in seventh after first 36 of Hartford Hawk Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Joe Walp (Portland, Maine) finds himself tied for sixth at +2 and the Bryant University golf team is in seventh after two rounds of the Hartford Hawk Invitational.

The Bulldogs have carded a team score of 605 (+29) over the first 36 holes, trailing host Hartford (581, +5) by 24 strokes. Central Florida, Connecticut, Temple, Seton Hall and Boston College are currently 2-6.

On a leaderboard that features just five golfers even par or under, Walp's score of 146 (+2) currently is tied for sixth place. He carded a 70 in the first round and a 76 in round two. Classmate Kyle Buschman (East Haddam, Conn.) has also played well and is currently tied for 10th (147, +3) after rounds of 72 and 75.

The Hartford Hawk Invitational concludes with third-round play on Tuesday afternoon.
