Slade makes Division I PING All-Region Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University golf junior and Northeast Conference men's Golfer of the Year McKinley Slade (Saunderstown, R.I.) has been selected to the Division I PING All-Northeast Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Slade enjoyed one of the most successful individual seasons in program history, and he is rewarded as one of 156 players across the six geographical regions to make the list.

The junior elevated his play tremendously in 2015-16, as he was named an All-NEC First Team honoree and the NEC Golfer of the Month three times. Slade become the first Bulldog since Jason Thresher ('10) in 2009-10 to earn Golfer of the Year in the NEC behind seven top-10 finishes and three second-place finishes, including two in the spring at the Towson Spring Invitational (75-71=146) and Rhode Island Invitational (76-69-69=213).

He shot a team and league-best average score of 72.8 in 25 rounds of play and is the only representative on the 156-man list from the NEC.
