Tombs earns NEC Co-Golfer of the Month

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Ryan Tombs (Bedford, N.H.) of the Bryant University golf team received Northeast Conference Co-Golfer of the Month, in part to his first-place finish at the Ryan Lee Memorial Collegiate.

Tombs, a two-time All-NEC first teamer and the 2014 NEC Rookie of the Year, began his season with a win at the Ryan Lee Memorial Collegiate. He finished the two-round competition with a four under-par 140, shooting 71 and 69 in each round. He was the only golfer to finish under-par and helped the Bulldogs to the team title, beating out a field of 14 schools. The senior began his October by tying for seventh place with a four-over 146 (72-74) in a dual match with Central Connecticut, then fired a six-over 150 (72-77) at the Hartford Hawk Invitational. Tombs leads Bryant with a 72.7 stroke average this fall.
