Roberts, Stafford tied for 10th after 36 holes at NEC Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Graduate student John Roberts (West Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Matthew Stafford (Suffield, Conn.) lead the way for the Bryant University men's golf team through 36 holes at the 2018 NEC Championship, as the Bulldog duo stand tied for 10th entering Sunday's final round.

Bryant is fifth in the nine-team field, 32 strokes behind leader Central Connecticut. The Bulldogs are seven strokes back of third-place Fairleigh Dickinson and four behind fourth-place Sacred Heart entering Sunday's final round.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Roberts turned in a 76 for the second-straight day to tie for 10th through 36 holes.
  • Stafford followed Friday's 75 with a 77 to join a group of seven golfers tied for 10th.
  • Junior Ryan Brown (Bedford, N.H.) carded an 80 and moved to 32nd.
  • Sophomore Connor Henderson (Southborough, Mass.) is 24th through 36 holes, while sophomore Payton Kim (Palatine, Ill.) stands 39th.
