As a freshman: Appeared in 16 contests for the Black and Gold in his rookie campaign ... Recorded his first collegiate point with an assist Feb. 22 against Hartford ... Fired 10 shots on the season, adding two ground balls.

Before Bryant: A 2013 graduate of De La Salle High School, Montero was a four-year varsity starter in the midfield for the Spartans … Led team to league championships in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and a North Coast Section title in 2010 … Named a first team all-league selection as a junior and senior … 2013 All-East Bay honoree.
