Bulldog lacrosse adds 15 newcomers to 2017 roster

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head men's lacrosse coach Mike Pressler is pleased to announce the addition of 15 student-athletes to the Bulldog program for the 2017 season.

The group consists of a 14-member Class of 2020 and one transfer. The newcomers are drawn from six different states and add depth at every position for the Black and Gold.

"It brings me great joy and excitement to announce our incoming freshman class," said Pressler, now in his 11th season at the helm. "Overall, the Bryant men's lacrosse Class of 2020 has been an exceptional group to coach this fall. These 15 newcomers have begun their college careers in a positive way both on and off the field. Once again, the future of Bulldog lacrosse looks very bright."

34 | Jameson Buttafuoco | A | 6-0 | 190 | Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich
A 2016 graduate of Sandwich High School, Buttafuoco was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for the Blue Knights … Three-time Athletic Coast Conference All-Star selection (2014, 2015, 2016) … Holds the single-game, single-season and career program records for points and assists … Also played four years of soccer … High honor roll student.

43 | Jack Callahan | D | 6-0 | 180 | Victor, N.Y./Victor Central
A 2016 graduate of Victor Central High School, Callahan was a three-year varsity starter for the Blue Devils … Led his team to back-to-back New York State Championships in 2015 and 2016, posting undefeated 22-0 records each year … Helped the Blue Devils to a Section V title in 2014 … Named an all-county selection as a junior and senior … 2016 Section V Tournament All-Star … 2014 all-tournament team pick … Also earned three varsity letters in football, where he was an all-county pick as a senior … Helped football team to a Section V Championship in 2015 as well … Named a 2016 US Lacrosse Academic All-American.

A 2016 graduate of The Governor's Academy, Coffey was a four-year varsity starter … Led team to an Independent School League title as a junior in 2015 … Team took second in the ISL in 2016 … All-lSL Honorable Mention as a junior … Second team all-state and all-league as a senior … Also played two of varsity ice hockey and four years of varsity football, where he was an all-league pick as a senior … Spent his freshman year at Central Catholic, where he was an all-league selection and team defensive MVP in football.

A 2016 graduate of Poway High School, Fiske was a four-year varsity starter for the Titans … Helped team to four-straight league titles and back-to-back conference championships (2015, 2016) … Named a US Lacrosse All-American as a junior and senior (2015, 2016) … 2015 USA Today First Team All-State selection … Two-time First Team All-CIF and First Team All-Palomar League pick (2015, 2016) … 2015 CIF Player of the Year … 2015 Palomar League Player of the Year … Named the 2015 and 2016 team MVP … Senior captain … 2016 CIF All-Academic Team honoree … Earned two AP Scholar awards … Earned a California Senate recognition for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

13 | Alex Parent | A | 5-7 | 175 | Seabrook, N.H./Central Catholic
