Bulldogs ranked No. 19 in final Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Media Poll

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After earning its fifth Northeast Conference Tournament title and fourth NCAA tournament berth in 2017, the Bryant University men's lacrosse team finishes the season ranked No. 19 in the final Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Division I Media Poll.

The top-20 national ranking is the first of the year for the Bulldogs, who finished the 2017 season 11-8 overall. Bryant earned its fifth NEC Tournament title of the last six years with a 5-4 win over top-seeded Hobart in the NEC Championship before hosting then-No. 19 Monmouth in a 10-7 NCAA Opening Round win.

Advancing to an NCAA First Round matchup with eventual national champion Maryland, the Black and Gold gave the tournament's top seed all it could handle despite a 13-10 loss in College Park.

The Bulldogs have received votes in both national polls throughout the season and finished the year ranked inside the top-20 in five different statistical categories, including man-up offense (second), scoring defense (fifth), faceoff percentage (11th), scoring margin (17th) and caused turnovers per game (19th). Bryant saw six of its own named all-conference selections, with all-region nods for senior captains Kyle Mummau (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Tucker James (Essex Fells, N.J.). James would go on to earn USILA/Nike All-America Honorable Mention honors, while both were drafted into the Major League Lacrosse ranks.
