O'Rourke chosen for USILA Team of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bryant University men's lacrosse freshman Marc O'Rourke (Hingham, Mass.) added to his honors for Saturday's performance with a Team of the Week selection Tuesday from the USILA.

O'Rourke posted a breakout game in Saturday's NEC opener against Mount St. Mary's, as he tallied six goals, two assists and three ground balls in a 20-11 win over the Mountaineers. The freshman attackman tied Bryant's Division I single-game mark for goals and scored the most goals by an NEC freshman since 2016. Bryant's 20 goals were the most for the Black and Gold since 2012 and one shy of the highest total in the nation this season.

The Massachusetts native is tied for the team lead with 17 goals on the year, while his eight assists, 25 points and 19 ground balls all place second on the Bulldogs.

O'Rourke's selection to the USILA Team of the Week is the third for the Bulldogs this season, as graduate student Kenny Massa (Huntington, N.Y.) has earned the distinction twice, including last week.

Bryant returns to action Saturday with an NEC contest at Sacred Heart. The 1 p.m. contest in Fairfield, Connecticut, can be seen on NEC Front Row.
