Beimfohr tabbed as NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's lacrosse junior Kevin Beimfohr (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Northeast Conference for the week ending April 1, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

Beimfohr helped the Bulldogs to a 10-7 win over No. 13 Robert Morris Friday night – Bryant's first win over a nationally ranked opponent in 2018. Beimfohr made eight saves, including seven on nine second-half shots, as Bryant outscored Robert Morris 7-2 over the final 34 minutes of the contest.

Friday's performance was the second-consecutive game in which Beimfohr has held an opponent to seven goals. On the year, Beimfohr has recorded a 9.64 goals-against average and .496 save percentage. In NEC play, Beimfohr has improved those numbers to an 8.33 goals-against average and .583 save percentage as Bryant has outscored NEC opponents 46-24.

Bryant rides a three-game winning streak into Saturday's home game against Wagner, which starts at 1 p.m. at the Bryant Track &Turf Complex.
