Johnny Hackett named America East Rookie of the Week

BOSTON -- Bryant University men's lacrosse freshman Johnny Hackett was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday. 

Hackett recorded a hat trick and added an assist for a four-point game in his collegiate debut on Saturday vs Providence. The Winnetka, Ill., native scored all three of his goals in the first half, tying the game at 5-5 in the second quarter with his third goal of the game. Bryant wouldn't trail the rest of the way in a 15-14 victory.

Hackett becomes the first true freshman to record a hat trick in his collegiate debut since Marc O'Rourke in 2018.
