Bryant heads west, faces Air Force Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team heads west this weekend, traveling to the United States Air Force Academy on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is set for 2:00 p.m. EST.

Bryant's trip to Air Force, Colorado, will be the furthest trip in program history.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Air Force are meeting for the second-straight year, completing a home-and-home series. The Falcons won the 2022 meeting, 16-10, inside the Conaty Indoor Athletic Center. Bryant pulled within one, 8-7, before the Falcons scored four straight to take a commanding 12-7 lead.   

SCOUTING AIR FORCE
Air Force is 3-2 on the year following a 14-8 victory over Mercer on Saturday. The Falcons also have wins over Colgate and Denver, and losses to Ohio State and Stony Brook.

The Falcons are averaging 10.4 goals per game and are led by Brandon Dodd's 12. Dodd (12g, 2a), Josh Yago (5g, 6a), Ethan Grandolfo (7g, 3a) and Aidan Tolen (7g, 3a) all have 10+ points.

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs are 4-1 on the year after a 14-12 win against Fairfield on Tuesday.
  • Bryant is 4-1 to start the season for the second time in three seasons. The 2021 team started 5-1.
  • Bryant ranks fifth nationally with 15.6 goals per game and 10th nationally in man-up offense.
  • Jack Lonsinger is the highest scoring freshman in the country, averaging 3.8 goals per game. 
  • Kevin Groeninger ranks 10th nationally with 2.40 assists per game.
