Laliberte, Hackett earn America East weekly honors

BOSTON -- Bryant University men's lacrosse junior Nathan Laliberte and freshman Johnny Hackett picked up America East weekly honors, the league announced on Monday.

Laliberte was named the AE Defensive Player of the Week, while Hackett earned rookie of the week honors for a fifth time. The duo helped Bryant defeat UMass Lowell, 20-4, on Saturday.

Laliberte had one of his best all-around games at the faceoff X this spring, winning 14-o-18 against the River Hawks. He added eight ground balls and also scored a pair of goals.

Hackett continued his torrid rookie season with four goals and two assists for six points at UML. He's now won rookie of the week honors in each of the last two weeks and five times overall. Hackett has 11 goals in his last two games and leads the Bulldogs with 33 points (25g, 8a).

Bryant returns to the field on Saturday, April 1 at NJIT.
