Bulldogs travel to Providence for Season Opener
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team opens its 2024 season on Saturday afternoon when it travels to take on in-state rival Providence College at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
Bryant owns a 10-4 lead in the Division I series. The Bulldogs have won the last three meetings, including a 15-14 victory last season at home.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence opened its season with a 12-6 win over Holy Cross last Sunday. Ryan Bell paced the way for the Friars' offense with seven points, scoring five goals and adding two assists.
BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

The Bulldogs are coming off a 12-5 campaign in 2023. Bryant finished 5-2 in league play and will look to defend their title as America East Champions.

Bryant begins its second season under the direction of head coach Brad Ross on Saturday. In his first season in Smithfield, Ross was named NEILA Coach of the Year.

The Bulldogs will return 88% of their scoring from a year ago including their starting attack.

The Black and Gold were .500 on the road in 2023; going 4-4.

Kevin Groeninger returns for his fifth season with the Black and Gold after tallying the first 30-30 season by a player in the team's Division I history the season prior.
