Men's Lacrosse ventures to Vestal for showdown with Binghamton

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team will travel to Vestal this weekend where they will play against the Binghamton Bearcats in a rematch of last year's America East Semifinal. Faceoff is set for 12:00 PM.

THE SERIES
This is the third all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and the Bearcats. It is the first time Bryant will face Binghamton on the road. Last season the Bulldogs beat the Bearcats in their regular season bout as well as in the conference playoffs which were hosted by UVM. 

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
After opening the year 2-5, Binghamton has found their stride. The Bearcats are 4-1 in conference play this season and are on a four game win streak. Liam Ferris and Matthew Keegan are tied for the team lead in goals with 27. Keegan also leads in assists with 13. Ross Chazanow is the primary faceoff man for Binghamton. He has gone 158-284 at the X so far this season and also leads the team in ground balls with 75. Connor Winters is the starting goaltender for the Bearcats. Through 11 games he has a .526 save percentage with 142 saves.

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

• Since returning from injury, Kevin Groeninger has recorded a hat trick over his past three games.

• Johnny Hackett posted 6 goals in last year's regular season matchup against Binghamton. Aidan Goltz had 4 goals in the semifinal game.

• Nathan LaLiberte continues to lead the nation in faceoff win percentage (.645) and is sixth in ground balls per game (8.82).

• As a team, Bryant is third in the nation for faceoff win percentage (.610) as well as ground balls per game with (38.73)

• Bryant is sixth in the NCAA in man-down defense.
