Rider knocks off MSOC, 3-0, Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Rider used a three-goal second half to down the Bryant University men's soccer team on Sunday afternoon in Lawrenceville, N.J.

The Broncs (2-1-1) scored their first two goals 10 minutes apart and added a goal in 82nd minute to down the Bulldogs (2-4).

Deadlocked at the half, Rider scored the first goal of the game in the 50th minute. Zach Bond took a forward pass from Florian Valot and finished for his first goal of the year. Christian Flath converted on a penalty 10 minutes later and Valot set up Adrien Huss's marker in the 82nd to complete the scoring.

The Broncs dominated most of the afternoon, outshooting the Bulldogs 11-4. Bryant had six corner kicks in the game but was only able to put one of its four shot attempts on net.

Bryant kicks off a five-game homestand next weekend as it hosts Saint Peter's on Saturday, Sept. 20. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
