Larocque named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Pairing his performances in the classroom and on the field, Bryant University men's soccer senior Brett Larocque (Ottawa, Ont.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.

The captain leads the squad with 12 points off five goals and two assists, including the game-winning helper against Buffalo on Sept. 13. Larocque has hammered 11-of-18 shots on goal in his 11 starts for the Bulldogs.

Complementary to his leadership on the field, the forward also represents his team's high standards in the classroom, achieving a 3.35 overall GPA. Larocque is a finance major with a minor in psychology.

The three-time NEC Academic Honor Roll student-athlete is the only men's soccer player from the Northeast Conference to earn this recognition. The senior was also named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2014 (3.75 or above) and has made Bryant's Dean's List in all six semesters.

Larocque and the rest of his district award winners will now join the national pool, where voting will select the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.
