Booth receives NEC All-Conference nod at Thursday's banquet

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's soccer sophomore defender Charlie Booth (Concord, Mass.) has been named to the All-Northeast Conference Second Team, as announced at the men's soccer banquet on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 2-2-3 conference record and nine points, as they tied for fourth in the league but were ultimately edged out by Sacred Heart for the final playoff spot due to the tiebreaker.

Booth was a huge part in the team's success this season. He was the only Bulldog to start all 16 games and anchored a backline that allowed just eight goals in NEC play and produced a pair of shutouts. One of the shutouts including a 0-0 draw against St. Francis Brooklyn on October 30, making Bryant the only team to not be defeated by the regular season champs and also not allow it to score a goal in league action.

Booth added four shots with two on net in his sophomore campaign and he has now started all 32 games over the last two seasons.
