Stewart's stellar second half lands him NEC Second Team honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After recording a 0.64 goals-against average in Northeast Conference play, the coaches of the Northeast Conference rewarded senior goalkeeper Nick Stewart (South Windsor, Conn.) with a Second Team All-Conference honor at the annual awards banquet Thursday night in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Stewart kept three clean sheets in his final eight games in goal and did not allow a goal in regulation in five NEC contests, leading his team to a 2-3-2 conference record in 2017.

Along with his 0.64 GAA, the senior keeper recorded a .861 save percentage in conference play, making 31 saves in seven NEC contests. Both marks were good for third in the NEC after the regular season concluded last Friday. His 4.43 saves per game in conference play were also good for third.

Overall, Stewart finished the season with a 0.93 goals-against average and .818 save percentage.
