Bryant to host Rhode Island in home opener Monday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the first time in the 2018 season, the Bryant University men's soccer team will be playing at home when they host Rhode Island on Monday.

The Series
This is the ninth all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and the Rams, with all of them coming in the Division I era. The last time in Smithfield, junior George Gill (Cork, Munster, Ireland) provided an assist in a 2-1 win in 2016.
Bulldogs Notes and Notables
- Bryant is coming off a 2-1 season-opening defeat at the hands of Howard on Friday afternoon. Redshirt-sophomore Antonio Terceros (Toronto, Ontario) scored his first goal in a Bulldogs uniform.
- Gill provided an assist in that game as well, the third of his career.
- Junior goalkeeper Olivier Larente (Garches, France) made the start between the posts for the Black and Gold, making four saves.
- Head Coach Seamus Purcell's club finished 2017 unbeaten in their final three home matches.
A bit about the Rams
- Rhode Island opened the 2018 campaign with a 2-0 defeat of Boston University on Friday night in the Massachusetts capital.
- Ludvik Benco and Simon Trcka provided the scoring in the 20th and 83rd minutes, respectively.
- The Rams finished 10-6-3 a season ago, dropping out of the Atlantic 10 tournament in the semis. They were picked fourth in this season's A-10 poll.
- Seniors Chae Brangman and Dominik Richter, as we all junior Peder Kristiansen, were selected to the Preseason All-Conference team.
