Bulldogs, Bears to renew in-state rivalry Friday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the second consecutive match, the Bryant University men's soccer team is pitted against an Ocean State foe as the Bulldogs make the short trip to Providence for a Friday afternoon matchup.

The Series
The Bears have taken all 13 meetings in the all-time series dating back to 1982. Brown took the most recent meeting 1-0 in the match last season at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
Bulldogs Notes and Notables
- The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Rhode Island on Monday. Junior Olivier Larente (Garches, France) made four saves for the Bulldogs.
- As a team, they tallied a season-high 13 shots with four on frame.
- Bryant freshmen Lucas Johnstone (Holderness, N.H.) and Ben Williams (Unionville, Ontario) made their first career appearances for the Black and Gold. Redshirt-sophomore Antonio Terceros (Toronto, Ontario) made his second collegiate start and first for Bryant.
- Terceros leads the Bulldogs with four shots and three on goal. His first Bulldog goal came in the season opener at Howard.
A bit about the Bears
- Brown opens their 2018 season with their in-state rivals. It is the first of three home games in a row to start the year for Brown.
- The Bears were picked to finish third in the 2018 Ivy League Preseason poll, behind Dartmouth and Columbia.
- Senior defenders Jack Hagstrom and Gabe Welp will lead the team as captains, while Hagstrom was named a Preseason All-American by College Soccer News.
- Classmate Toby Howell is back for his senior season, returning after a 12-point output in 2017 with five goals and two assists.
