Bulldogs, Red Flash play to scoreless draw

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – It ended as a four-point weekend for the Bryant University men's soccer team, as the Bulldogs drew with Saint Francis U on Sunday afternoon to cap the first weekend of conference play.

Game Information

Bryant 0, Saint Francis U 0 (2OT)

Records: Bryant 1-6-2 (1-0-1 NEC), Saint Francis U 5-3-2 (1-0-1 NEC)

Location: Bulldog Soccer Field | Smithfield, R.I.

Coach Purcell's Comments

"I thought it was a very even game at halftime. In the second half, we came out and did a very good job pressuring them. We worked very hard and earned the draw. At the end of the day, it's four points out of six and we'll take that. I don't think I could ask any of these players to work any harder. I was proud of them on Friday and I am just as proud of them today."

Key Moment

After sophomore Felipe Cypriano's (Malden, Mass.) free kick was dangerous into the area, four different Bulldogs were able to get a shot towards goal but none found the net, including one shot deflecting off a Bryant defender, keeping the game scoreless.

Scoring Summary

  • No goals.

  • The Bulldogs have posted back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season.
