Bryant Men's Soccer wins America East Championship in 2OT

DURHAM, N.H - On Sunday evening the Bryant University men's soccer team became America East champions with a 1-0 double overtime win against UNH.

This is the first time the Bulldogs have ever won a conference championship.

  • Jonas Lyshoj scored two minutes into the second overtime to get the win for the Black and Gold.

Scoring Summary

  • 101st  minute - Bryant 1, UNH 0 - Javier Soler Gandia won Antreas Hadjigavriel's punt out of the air and then played the ball to Marc Pitarch Bayot. Pitarch then played a ball over the top to Lyshoj who was making the run up the right flank. Lyshoj drove inside with the ball and smashed it past the keeper to put the Dawgs up.

Notes and Notables

  • Four members of the Black and Gold were named to the America East All-Championship Team including Lyshoj, Hadjigavriel, Inigo Villaldea, and Kerman Sukia. Hadjigavriel also picked up Most Outstanding Player honors after his career day.
  • Lyshoj's goal was his fourth of the season and second game-winning goal.
  • Pitarch's assist on the goal was his sixth of the year while Soler's was his second.
  • Six players played the whole 110 minutes for the Bulldogs.
  • Hadjigavriel made a career high nine saves in net to secure the clean sheet.
