Valor signs with Icelandic side ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Former Bryant Bulldog Vicente Valor Martinez '23 has joined Icelandic First Division side ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar on a two year contract that runs until 2025.

Valor will join ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar's fight for promotion in the 2024 season. The team was relegated from Iceland's Premier League last season but are favorites to win the First Division and make their way back to the top league.

With the Black and Gold, Valor was an instrumental piece in the midfield. The Spanish international started all 20 games for Bryant and registered five goals and a team leading seven assists in the 2023 season. Valor's performance on the pitch earned him America East All-Conference Second Team honors as well as two America East Offensive Player of the Week awards, College Soccer News Team of the Week, and TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week.

Prior to Bryant, Valor spent three seasons with Bryant head coach Ruben Resendes at Franklin Pierce. While with the Ravens, Valor became a Division II national champion and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team, and D2CCA All-East Region Second Team. At Franklin Pierce, Valor played in 51 games, making 48 starts, and tallied seven goals and 16 assists for 30 points.
